Yeah, I think when we're talking about preventative health, we have to think about the entire scope of it. And when you're talking about vaccines, most vaccine schedule will be done in the pediatrics office, so have that conversation with your pediatrician. Your pediatrician is actually best positioned to advise you on vaccines for your children. When we get into adulthood, by and large, we've had most of our vaccines, but there are a couple of vaccines that I always, always advocate for as a cardiologist. The flu vaccine is the main one, because why? Because people with heart disease, if they catch the flu, they have an increased risk of hospitalization, emergency room visits, and death.
So just get a flu vaccine and decrease your risk of actually, getting the flu. And it's not just heart disease, but it's many chronic medical conditions like, cancer, lung disease, all of these things where you're a little bit closer to the edge, flu can actually take you over the edge if you, if you catch the flu. So flu vaccine is always something I recommend, for all cardiology patients.
