It’s been 3 years since former Wild ‘N Out TV star known as Ms Jacky Oh! passed away in Miami at the age of 32.

TMZ reported that the entertainer, whose full name was Jacklyn Smith, said she was in Miami to have a ‘mommy makeover’ done in a social media post she subsequently deleted. It was revealed that Jackie died just one day after undergoing a gluteal augmentation procedure, commonly referred to as a butt lift, according to a report from the medical examiner’s office

Jacky and fellow #WildnOut costar and comedian DC YoungFly have been together for several years and share three young children together.

‘We are deeply saddened by the passing of Jacklyn Smith, known to the world as Jacky Oh, a talented Wild N’ Out family member whose impact will be forever treasured and missed,’ the spokesperson said. ‘Jacky Oh was a loving friend and beloved colleague of the Wild N’ Out cast throughout five seasons.

DC and Jacky initially crossed paths in 2015, the same year he emerged as a personality on the MTV series.

She was already one of the Wild ‘N Out personalities at that time.

On Monday (June 1), DC Young Fly honored his longtime partner on the third anniversary of her death.

“[You] don’t wanna sit and think about the woulda coulda when u had the chance… [That] s**t will drain u every day,” the comedian wrote in an Instagram post alongside a photo of himself and Jacky Oh. He continued, “[You] gotta find ways to remain joyful in confusion… and just stay focused and keep pushin’ forward, askin’ GOD for guidance.”

“Three years now, and this a pain that’s [with] me forever,” the caption concluded. Jacky Oh, who died on June 1, 2023, as a result of “complications of cosmetic surgery,” left behind three children: Nova, Nala, and Prince.

Since she was no longer on the series, she parlayed her fame to start multiple businesses including a lip gloss called the J Nova Collection and multiple real estate ventures.

4 Things to Consider When Getting a ‘Mommy Makeover’

1. Infection Can Occur

Like any surgery, butt lifts carry the risk of infection. Warning signs include:

  • Fever
  • Increasing redness
  • Severe swelling
  • Drainage from incisions
  • Persistent pain

Untreated infections can lead to hospitalization and additional surgeries.

2. Blood Clots Are a Real Concern

Long surgical procedures increase the risk of developing blood clots in the legs, known as deep vein thrombosis (DVT). If a clot travels to the lungs, it can cause a life-threatening pulmonary embolism.

3. Medical Conditions Can Increase Your Risk

People with conditions such as:

  • Diabetes
  • Heart disease
  • Obesity
  • Smoking history
  • Blood clotting disorders

may face a higher risk of complications and should undergo a thorough medical evaluation before surgery.

4. Questions to Ask Your Surgeon

Before scheduling surgery, ask:

  • How many butt lift procedures do you perform each year?
  • What is your complication rate?
  • Where will the procedure be performed?
  • What safety measures do you use to prevent fat embolisms?
  • What happens if complications occur?
  • Can I see before-and-after photos of your actual patients?

Jackie’s Inspiration Still Lives On

Jacky has been known to share a few motivational messages as well. She left us with one posted to her Instagram:

“When you start drawing nearer to God – reading and really listening to the word and applying it in real life – there’s such a beautiful awakening and transforming power that you start to feel & I just really love that for me and also for all my loved ones that are experiencing it as well. Every conversation I’ve had lately has God all up in it & He really has the answer to every single thing. God is so dope. Love y’all! Jacky”

According to her iMDb page, she has been in a number of films, including movies such as 2022’s Clout, 2022’s Scheme Queens, 2021’s Switched at Love, 2019’s Miscraft and 2017’s Del Playa. She also appeared on TV shows such as 2019’s The Worst Couple, 2019’s Marc + Jenni, and 2019’s Shift Drinks.

Fellow comedian, Ryan Davis, posted this on DC’s Instagram:

“One thing that I know for certain about you is that your faith is unwavering and that you have a direct line to God. Hold on to that. You’re one of the strongest people I’ve ever known. You don’t have to be strong by yourself. I know that you already have your village but if you need anything, I’m here. You’re in my prayers.”
