‘Keep Praying’: Lamar Odom Not Walking But Making Progress

Despite reports that former Los Angeles Lakers player Lamar Odom took a few steps without assistance, a report by Radar Online said that these stories suggesting a Christmas miracle may have been rumors promoted by the Kardashians. Odom was found unconscious in a brothel in October due to drug overdose and is being treated at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

On 17 December (15), TMZ reported the former Los Angeles Lakers player had taken three steps without his walker, much to his doctors’ surprise, but the new details are at odds with those claims.

TMZ previously reported the 36-year-old had built up enough strength to take his first few steps unaided, but a new source has revealed Lamar is not mobile just yet.

“Lamar has made great improvements after the overdose, but he is not walking and unfortunately there is no Christmas miracle for his condition,” the insider told Radar Online. “He’s still in pretty bad shape. Lamar wants to get better and he gives it his all, but it is tough. Really tough for him.”

Lamar is allegedly set to leave Cedars-Sinai hospital in L.A. and move to a rehabilitation facility in the New Year (16) to continue his lengthy recovery process.

But some good news the source claimed that Lamar, who previously had a “limited range of motion in his hands,” was recently able to reach over his head and put his hood on. The recovery milestone reportedly happened during a visit from Lamar Odom’s wife, Khloe Kardashian.

Although Lamar Odom is far from a full recovery, he’s reportedly regaining brain function slowly but surely, most recently recognizing a hospital staff member. While that doesn’t seem like much, TMZ noted the behavior as “significant,” as he couldn’t recognize family just a short while ago.

The family wants fans and friends to “keep praying” for the former NBA star, as mentioned in a recent statement.

And that’s something we will definitely continue to do. Get well soon Lamar!
