I think our forefathers were, were-- just didn't trust the medical process, didn't trust doctors, just didn't trust that it was for us. But I think now we have too much proof that it can be, that it is for us, and that we can take, take matters and get ahead of it. And as an athlete, I get asked a lot about, like, how that mindset translates, and look, you- you're- you're-- we're in a competitive world. We're all competing for life, we're competing for win- to win, we're, we're competing for our future. Yeah. And I think you have to take that s- that same mindset. You don't have to be a high-level athlete to know that we're competing for something bigger than ourselves.
Yeah. And I think you have to look at it like, "This is not about me." Yeah. You know? It's not about me, and I think that that's really what carried me through, is whether I'm a Black male, twice as likely, or an athlete, I'm part of something bigger than me, right? And God has a plan and a purpose for me, that lives beyond me. And so I think that's what I-- that's my message.
